Gourmet break in elegant locations
Give yourself a gourmet break in one of the historical cafés of the city center, to taste the Baroque atmosphere and the elegance of Turin.
Thanks to these cafés, where the Piedmontese art of pastry was born and grew, Turin earned the title of Italian Capital of Chocolate.
From this long tradition comes the creation of bicerin, a drink made of espresso, bitter chocolate and whipped cream, which has won the heart of famous people such as Alexandre Dumas and Hernest Hemingway.
The other great protagonist is “Tonda Gentile”, the IGP hazelnut produced in Piedmont, the most important ingredient of gianduiotto, the typical local chocolate.
Not everyone knows that Turin also boasts the invention of two popular products now famous worldwide: Pinguino, the first ice cream in the world covered by chocolate and served on a stick, and vermouth, the famous wine flavored liqueur, to be tasted during the aperitif.
